Morgan Stanley Loses $2.37 Billion

Morgan Stanley (GS) said Wednesday it lost $2.37 billion during its fiscal fourth quarter as it took a range of losses on assets amid one of the roughest quarters for investment banks. Morgan lost $2.34 per share for the quarter ended Nov. 30. General Mills 2Q Beats Estimates

General Mills Inc. (GIS) said Wednesday its second-quarter profit fell 3%, but adjusted results beat expectations. The company said earnings in the quarter ending Nov. 23 fell to $378.2 million, or $1.09 per share, from $390.5 million, or $1.14 per share, last year. But excluding charges on commodity positions and a gain on the sale of its Pop Secret microwave popcorn business, profit totaled $1.36 per share. Anheuser-Busch to Cut 6% of Staff

Anheuser-Busch InBev announced it would cut about 1,400 U.S. jobs -- or 6% of its U.S. work force -- to help save the world's largest brewer at least $1.5 billion a year. It said three-quarters of the jobs to disappear will go from Anheuser's North American headquarters in St. Louis, both at downtown offices and its Sunset Hills campus.
