Hey DonQ,
I looked at USEG a few days ago and again a few minutes ago. On a technical basis USEG looks to be starting a new uptrend. It looks like it hit a low of $2.58 a share Thur. and then rebounded .16 cents yesterday. I think it will continue upward but it will have some minor pullbacks on the way and dont bail out when it pulls back a day or 2. That used to be the biggest mistake I made. If you look at a good chart you can see a stock usually ticks up for a couple of days or so,has a minor pullback and then upticks for another 2 or 3 days. I have had GNVC in my portfolio almost since the begining and it is a pretty a chart as you will ever see. Also beware of these low volume-low outstanding share total as they can burn you sometimes. I had a leasing company and I cant think of the name right now,but I 2 or 3 thousand shares with real money and I went from a big profit to a loss trying to get out of it. I would look at the bid and try to sell a couple of hundred shares and sometimes I would sell 1 hundred shares and the bid would drop without selling the other hundred. If I can help you let me know.Don

Edwin,
I can't give you an exact time frame, but it will be near term. My favorite out of the AG companys is CF and they had a monster quarter. One minute the world is starving and the next minute all the companys playing a huge part in feeding all these starving people are downgraded by GS.Based on what I would like to know.
The worlds population will continue to grow. China will continue to import our ag products. And CF,POT and the others will continue to prosper. And the farmers will continue to feed the world as best they can.
Why GS cut these companys is beyond me. But they will be down for days and not much longer.
World hunger and the companys that play a part in feeding the masses are not going anywhere.
I think you are right on track with short term and they will be back!!

Hey Wade,
I bought this stock last year and I think it's less now than it was last year. I found it last year and they were adding new lines or planta and upping their production. I thought it was a winner but it never panned out. If they get all the new production online and steel prices continue going up it may move up. But,for now if you look at the chart the stock has been going the wrong direction

Hey Russell, Even if Im right that oil is due a large pullback Lufkin would still be all right for a quarter or two. Watch oil prices tomorrow as options expire. See how oil reacts. Also, did you watch oil prices. The Saudis had said they were raising production and oil shot up to almost $140. Then turned around and dropped back and at 6:54 CST down to $133 and change. So today there was a $7 dollar swing. I think oil will drop a few dollars tomorrow while options are expiring. It may take a more severe pullback than $100 to hurt them much, but I think oil may drop lower. Time will tell. Today I really like Lufkin, down the road I dont know. Don

Hey Don,
I agree with everything you have to say. All these commodities and some of the stocks have to be being manipulated by speculators. Oil consumption has dropped for quite a few months and these people just recently admitted it. All the wild price swings cant be regulated by demand. It should have been a small orderly drop in crude prices not up $15 today down $20 the next day and so on. And some of the AG stocks are being manipulated. Pot and some of the others are excellent companys with excellent earnings and the swings in price are too dramatic. I bought some calls on TRA the other day and they went up about 60% in a couple of days. Today I think the calls were down about 50%. TRA currently has a PE of about 5 as last quarter TRA netted almost $2 a share. Also, some of the coal companys such as ARCH have contracts out 2 and 3 years with set prices. Their share price should move very little as they have locked in their coal prices. TRAs prices wont move enough to cause these wild price swings.

Hey Wade, All these ag companies dropped today. As corn, soybeans and all the other commodities drop, they drag the fertilizer stocks down too. I don't agree with this as these companies set a price and unless there's a huge shift up or down in production the price should stay constant. The media said a month or so ago that the corn crop and other grain crops were wiped out due to the flooding and as usual they were wrong. They are going to have a good crop. If I had to guess I would say that if the ethanol program is still operating as last year farmers and all the companies associated with the farmers will have a good year again. My advice is to hold your stock and if possible on these big pullbacks add a little more. It could be next week or next month but all these ag companies are going to be fine. A couple of my favorites are CF and TRA both similar to AGU and like TRAs net tripled last quarter and I see no reason for any change in sentiment. Don
